Complete the VA Board of Veterinary Medicine's application to practice as a Veterinary Technician in VA

Submit the Form by Mail, Fax, or Email to the Board of Veterinary Medicine along with One of Two Options:
I. Examination (Passage of the VTNE) along with the following:
- Transcript from an AVMA accredited program of Veterinary Technology or CVMA conferring program
- Examination scores (contact the American Assocation of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) by clicking here to release VTNE scores to VA ($80 fee) If exam was taken through VTNE in VA, a request for score transfer is not required)
- Verification of any veterinary technology licenses, certifications or registrations ever held, including expired, in another jurisdiction of the U.S. or its territories and District of Columbia
II. Endorsement (hold a license, certification or registration in another jurisdiction of the U.S. or its territories and District of Columbia) along with the following:
- Transcript from an AVMA accredited program of Veterinary Technology or CVMA conferring program OR National examination scores from AAVSB. If exam taken through VTNE in VA, a request for score transfer is not required
- Verification of any veterinary technology licenses, certifications, or registrations ever held, including expired, in another jurisdiction of the U.S. or its territories and District of Columbia
- Written documentation of clinical practice as a veterinary technician for at least 2 of the past 4 years immediately preceding the application. Your active practice may be verified on the Board's optional Employment Verification Form or company letterhead
